Digital Trends Media Group Opens Applications for DEI Awards Program

September 17, 2021 Portland, OR - Digital Trends Media Group is looking for applications from minority-led and diversity-focused businesses.

The media house’s DEI Award’s Program was launched last year as part of the company’s $3M commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion mapped out in its public 7 Point Plan. Three businesses have been granted advertising awards thus far, including EffinFunny, a Los Angeles-based production company with a focus on representation in entertainment for marginalized individuals; Upsie, a minority-owned tech warranty brand; and A Kids Book About, a diversity-focused children’s book brand focused on empowering youth.

“We’re excited to formally open up our program to the public,” says Anita Kekona, DEI Committee Chair at Digital Trends Media Group. “We’ve spent the last year learning from our first cohort of award recipients and figuring out how to support companies of various sizes and resources that are doing great work.”

For the Program’s support of EffinFunny Production’s Juneteenth Fundraiser, DTMG and EffinFunny were recognized with honorable mentions at the dotCOMM Awards and the Viddy Awards.
